# Solution: Calculate the [H3O+] and pH of each of the following H 2SO4 solutions.a) Calculate the [H3O+] for 0.10 M solution. Express your answer using two significant figures. b) Calculate pH for 0.10 M solution. Express your answer using two decimal places.

###### Problem

Calculate the [H3O+] and pH of each of the following H 2SO4 solutions.

a) Calculate the [H3O+] for 0.10 M solution. Express your answer using two significant figures.

b) Calculate pH for 0.10 M solution. Express your answer using two decimal places.

###### Solution

H 2SOis a diprotic acid but for identifying the pH, we only consider the first dissociation. This is because for the first dissociation, we consider it as strong acid and therefore it will dissociate completely. However, for the second dissociation, it's already a weak acid.
