In nondisjunction, the separation of homologous pairs of chromosomes do not happen correctly (meiosis I) or sister chromatids do not separate during meiosis II. When this happens, one gamete gets two copies of a chromosome while the other gets none. This immediate effect (i.e. abnormal number of chromosomes) is known as aneuploidy.
